OMG guys guess what? So in my update a few days ago I had only said that I was doing a sash (easy cheese) but my art teacher actually gave me two dresses to sew up and two sashes. Today I just sewed up the red dress and the red sash but there is another black dress and a gold sash and they are so pretty. This morning I had some struggles with my sewing machine and it became really frustrating. The good news is that my mom helped me fix it. Here is just a quick post on what I have been sewing lately. I made the hems a little bumpy and as you can see they are a little curvy but I am planning to just iron that out and to make them straight. This opportunity is so much fun... I cannot wait to do more, and when I do more you know that I will be here to update with you. I didn't post the other dress and sash today because I want to keep you guys guessing and excited. Comment below what you think I could do to improve my hemming skills. Also sorry I haven't been updating as much, I have just been really busy. A little hint though is that I am going to do another fashion design poll. Many people loved the design poll so I have decided to do more of those. This is SEW Much Fun, Soah

Hey everyone, I hope that you have all had a wonderful start to your Winter. Sorry I haven't been posting lately but I have just been so busy. I do have some cray amazing news though. My art teacher wants me to help out the set design club (that is not the point.) The point I am making is that she would like me to sew the hems of the sashes they are working on. It might not seem like a big deal to you, but I am so excited. This is where people are starting to take me seriously. I want to be able too help people sew and I am so excited that I get this opportunity as an (eh) designer to show people what I can do. I am hopefully picking the sashes up tomorrow and I will update with you guys as soon as I get them
Talk To You Later, Soah
Who knew that pillow making could be so enjoyable? This morning I woke up and my hands were itching to "be sewn." Fashion pun alert haha. I used my bandanna fabric from last night and attempted to make a small pillow. I totally failed and it look bad, not to mention that I stuffed it with tissues which was stupid. I tried to do another pillow and there was this sticky tape stuff that my sewing machine hated and refused to sew. I kept on forcing it to sew until the needle bent. My mother wasn't very happy about that, but good thing that the box had a few spares just in case that happened. Advice to the people, just because you can sew in a straight line like a pro, does NOT mean that you can suddenly go crazy with your fabric. I made the red pillows out of an old t shirt that my friend Emma got me from Canada as a present (sorry Emma.) By the end of making this Canada mini pillow set, the whole entire shirt was used up and I think I did a fantastic job. I had spent all morning sewing seams and measuring the fabric. I had a lot of fun and I thought that I had created a very stress relief environment. For a beginner I think that I can catch up very quickly which is so promising. In the book Sew Zoey the first thing she did was create a pillow as well. I haven't actually used the fabric that I was going to make the REAL pillows with, but so far everything looks good and I think that the fabric I will use for my upcoming pillows will look very cute. Also, I think that next time if I just go to a thrift store and get an Xtra Large shirt made out of cool fabric from Goodwill I can make some cool stuff. Another thing I am planning tot do is buy a skirt that fits me well from Goodwill and then buy a bunch of ties and then sew them onto my skirt to create a tie skirt! How cool would that be? Practice makes perfect! Goodbye, Soah OMG my sewing machine (purple thunder) is beautiful. Today I finally used it for the first time and I love sewing so much. The fabric almost has a mind of its own as it runs away from your fingertips but you can stop time by just lifting up your foot. You have total control over what you create and I love that feeling. The first thing I did was practiced straight lines on lined fabric. I messed up a lot of times but jammed the bobbin and stuff. In the end, I actually even found out how to fix everything by myself not to mention that I know how to thread my own sewing machine to which is the best feeling in the world. Purple Thunder can do a bunch of different kinds of stitches which I all experimented with. I wanted to sit down at the table and just sew forever. Sewing looks super easy but it isn't. There are so many things that you need to take care of and the worst part is ,fashion designing is even harder. With fashion designing you need to learn all the different fabrics, you need to become a pro at fast sewing, a lot of construction is put into the process, and you need to know all the different kinds of styles (edgy, couture, vintage) My advice to you if you are going in my direction of fashion is that 1. you watch a whole lot of Project Runway and 2. you never give up on a challenge. I now think the sewing is just a way of time and patience is a large key point in that. This night I created little bandannas for my two Chihuahuas and learned how to "sew neatened edges." On Sunday I am going to work more on lines in the morning and hopefully get to start making a pillow. Below I attached a picture of Purple Thunder, and some pictures of my puppies with their bandannas on...
Goodnight, Soah Hello beautiful people from all around the world, and welcome to my blog Chic Soah. This is my first post and I am so excited to go on a fashion journey with you by my side. I have always had a major obsession with fashion but ow that I am officially twelve, I finally have my first sewing machine (named Purple Thunder). On Saturday I will use my sewing machine for the first time. I went to SAS Fabric and picked up these really pretty fabrics which I will try to create a pillow with. Stay tuned for more. Above I have a recent design that is part of my "travel series" mini collection. I want you, the people, to vote on which you think is best. The London look or the Peru look. Vote below and see what others think
